It's cold and blustery right now but I can't help and enjoy myself. It rained for the first time in months yesterday; I had almost forgotten the quiet rhythm of water on the roof. I don't particularly like being cold and wet, but that's what it takes to appreciate being warm and dry.

Also, 'tis the season for knitting! I ended my year long hiatus from knitting, and the past month has been a flurry of production. Thick scarves and hats are in style now,which is good news for me because I like instant gratification when knitting. It's so disheartening to see a day's work amount to only a few inches, even if they're complex and delicate.

The blue in my hair was starting to fade, so I dyed purple over that. Now it's is primarily purple, but also has blue and brown in it, which works for me. I'm not sure which color will come next, I think I'm going to let everything grow out and then see what I can do without any residual colors.

I go swine flu over the weekend, which was not fun. Fever of 102.5, chills, dizziness,other gross stuff. It was horrible, I could barely move or speak. I think I'm still recovering because I got ten hours of sleep last night (yay) but I'm still tired (boo.)

It's hot and dusty and the air is heavy and the sky is bright blue.

There's no feeling like summer.

Today I rented a cello. I'll be teaching myself, and it's going pretty well, so far. I can play the can can already; I need to get some more music.
